1. What motivated the Grand Théâtre de Genève to replace traditional bags with durable TreeTote bags?
When it became clear that standard tote bags no longer made ecological sense and were contributing to the growing waste problem, the GTG decided to stop producing tote bags altogether. However, during our research, we discovered the TreeTote concept, which convinced us and allowed us to reintroduce this item to our community in a truly sustainable way.

Yes, the quality of the materials — as well as the printing — allows us to communicate our image in the best possible way.

3. How does your audience respond to this more ecological initiative that aligns with the Theatre’s cultural and civic values?
The feedback has been very positive. However, it remains essential to explain that not all tote bags are the same, and that the TreeTote we offer is genuinely ecological.

4. Could you tell us more about your broader sustainability approach within the Theatre, and how TreeTote fits into this commitment?
The Grand Théâtre’s approach to sustainability and environmental responsibility is multifaceted. Wherever possible, we strive to choose the most ecological and socially responsible option in everything we do. Whether it’s for an end-of-year gift or the production of a season brochure, the question of sustainability is always at the heart of our projects.
